Some sculpted pieces

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

From time to time, I have some sculpted pieces which for one reason or another, I have not let go. I thought I would post some on my blog, and if you are interested in purchasing them, please let me know.

The first piece is called The Gift, and it depicts Santa presenting a small box to very excited little boy. The piece is 11 1/2 inches tall, and 6 1/2 inches wide. It is sculpted entirely by hand, painted, sealed, and has a dusting of glitter on the snow. The Gift can be yours for $135.00, including shipping.

The second piece is called Santa and the Children. Santa has a very surprised expression on his face, because the little boy sitting on his lap is giving HIM a gift! Two excited children look on. The piece is one of the most labor-intensive ones I have ever done, but it was so much fun! This is sculpted by hand, painted, and sealed, and there is a dusting of glitter on the snow. Santa and the Children is 7 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches wide. The price is $225.00 including shipping.

A visitor

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Two posts in one day!  Can I stand it?  And, both with pictures!  The learning curves continue, but I am trying!  This lovely swallowtail was drifting lazily about the flowers on the deck this afternoon.  The flight seems effortless, and the landing so delicate!  What a beautiful visitor to the yard!

Sneak peek for August on Spooky Time Jingles

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

It’s August, and nearly time to have new offerings for Spooky Time Jingles. I thought I would attempt to upload (another learning curve!) a couple of pictures of my new pieces!

First up, on the left, is Barney, the happy little pumpkin guy. He is seated on my deck railing, but he will be ready to live with you in just one week…..

And, the ultimate snow cones, each cool guy has a dusting of glitter to complete the look! They would look cute displayed the year ’round! Enjoy! Thanks for looking!

Meet Mikey!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008
Hello world!

Hello world!

Meet Mikey!   He is one of several new little friends who frequent my backyard in the late afternoon and evening. At this time of year, the raccoon babies are about two months old, and their parents are teaching them how to search for food. Well, they need go no further than to my house! I have set up a feeding station on the other side of the fence where the land slopes off to the marsh. The raccoons wade in or swim in, depending upon the tide, and stop for a while to eat. The babies are learning so much every day, and usually are pretty shy around humans, but Mikey is my new best bud. I have named him Mikey because he eats anything – cantaloupe and bananas are his faves! Actually, he enjoys little peanut butter sandwiches, apples, peaches, and strawberries, and plenty of nuts, if you have ‘em!  I put out lots of sunflower seed every day for the birds and squirrels, and raccoons love them as well.  They are able to grasp little pawfuls and are quite refined as they eat.  Look for more posts about Mikey!  He is growing daily!
