It’s getting ever closer to October 13th, and you know what that means:  there will be new pieces on Spooky Time Jingles.  The air is getting a bit cooler, leaves are beginning to turn a bit, and pumpkins are everywhere!  Must mean we are approaching the witching hour………

It’s the economy, stupid, or perhaps not……

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Seems that this phrase keeps coming back, and this time, with a vengeance!  I thought I would post some of my favorite quotes which pertain to the mood in the country these days.   I think we can all use something to think about……

~An economist is a man who states the obvious in terms of the incomprehensible.  Alfred P. Knopf

~If all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion.  George Bernard Shaw

~Economics is extremely useful as a form of employment for economists.  John Kenneth Galbraith

~An economist is a surgeon with an excellent scalpel and a rough-edged lancet, who operates beautifully on the dead and tortures the living.   Nicholas Chamfort

…….Now, putting all of that in perspective…..

~Isn’t it interesting that the same people who laugh at science fiction listen to weather forecasts and economists?  Kelvin Throop III

~If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to.  Dorothy Parker

So in light of these quotes….

~Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.  Abraham Lincoln

~Cherish all of your happy moments:  they make a fine cushion for old age.  Christopher Morley

~Human beings, by changing their inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.  William James

There you have it!  The point is this:  no one will ever have all of the answers in life.  Rely upon your own instincts, and take care of one another.  If you are fortunate enough to have good health, family, and friends, you are the wealthiest in the world!

Who eats in the dining room?

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Since entering the wonderful world of art, a bazillion years ago, there was always one dilemma, regardless of what my projects happen to be.  WHERE do I put things?  My kitchen table has long since been given over to my creativity, and things seem to drift from room to room these days.  During the weeks of run up to a show, things migrate all over the house.  Here’s just a peek at the dining room table – cluttered though it may be, it’s still progress!  We eat on tray tables………….
