Getting in Some Sledding Time!

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Here’s another one of the Santas I recently shipped to Reasons to Believe.  This one shows Santa pulling a sled through the snow, and a little girl happily seated on her red sled.  This piece should be posted soon on the site.  Come on back frequently to check in on my blog!  Every few days, I will put up close ups of other Santas, and of course, you can ALWAYS go to my page on Reasons to Believe to see all of my pieces!  Enjoy!

A Perfect 10 !

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Yes, in the world of competitive ice skating, you cannot beat this charming duo!  Although the little bear cub is a bit tentative about his role in this, he is still going along with Santa!  This is one of twelve new Santas I have just sent to Reasons to Believe.  Take a look at their wonderful site!  And, be looking for the new pieces to be posted on my page there soon!  Enjoy!

How about a close up!

Direct from Hollywood!

Friday, July 24th, 2009

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that my son, Matthew, is a film editor in Hollywood.  Last night, he sent me a promo poster image that I can post here – sort of like a Coming Attractions thingy!  Yeah!  Currently, he is working on Jonah Hex – an adaptation of the comic of the same name.  This is a bit of sci-fi, set in the post Civil War West.  Here’s a link to a site which gives you a rundown on the character and how it has evolved with the DC Comics.  Pretty cool stuff!  My insider tells me that it will be released next summer!

Go Matthew!

They are on their way!

Yes, more Santas are on their way to Reasons to Believe!  I am rounding out the collection for the site, so here are some group pics of what I sent.  They will be photographed and posted on their site later on this year.  Additionally, I will be posting close ups on this blog, so that you can see the pieces in much greater detail!  Follow this link to the site, and you can find me there, along with many other Santa artists and their creations!  Enjoy!  It’s always Christmas at my house!

Happy almost birthday to us!

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Yes, indeed!  Happy almost Birthday to Spooky Time Jingles!  We celebrate our 1st birthday, or anniversay, however you choose to look at it, coming up on July 13th.  Take a look at these specials!

Imagine this!  There are TONS of door prizes for our big event, and when you purchase an item, you multiply your chances to win!  And, this will be a bonus for the ASPCA and for local animal shelters around the country.  Our artists are designating pieces, a portion of whose sales will go to this effort to help animals.

All of my pieces this month will salute our furry friends, and here are a few peeks at what I will be offering!  Take a look, and join us tomorrow night around midnight Eastern time!  Happy Birthday/Anniversary!  YEAH!

See you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You MUST see this!

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

You MUST see this – yes, you MUST see this!  I am a person who believes one person always has, always can, and always will make a difference.  This story which aired on CBS Sunday Morning this past Sunday is proof of my belief.  This is the AMAZING story of an 82-year-old woman, Maisie DeVore, who wanted a swimming pool for the children in her small town, and she was determined to raise the money to build it.  Follow this link to see her journey.  Bravo to the American spirit, and to senior citizens eveywhere who prove, on a daily basis, that life isn’t over and that they contribute to the strength of our culture!

How informed ARE you?

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

If you are a citizen of the United States, how much do you REALLY know about our country and how it works?  I think we are bombarded by facts in the news media, through school, in conversation, but how much do we actually know about our government?

This quiz was on my homepage today – a fitting test on July Fourth, our Independence Day.  Just click on the word ‘quiz’ and go to it! ‘Take a look and give it your best!  After all, the more informed you are, the better decisions you will make!  Happy Fourth!

It’s his birthday!

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Yes, today is my son’s 38th birthday!  How can this be?  I am SOOOO young, that it just doesn’t seem possible!

Matthew was born on July 3, 1971 in Falls Church, Virginia outside of Washington, DC.  At the time, Harry was a lieutenant in the Fairfax County Fire Service, and we were living in Vienna.  My, how times have changed!  Here is a picture of him, in his patriotic garb, on his first birthday!

Just look at him now!…. well, almost now.  This was taken  nearly two years ago at a wedding reception for a close family friend.  Matthew is a BIT taller than I am!  Is he not a darlin’?!

We are immensely proud of him, and have been from the moment of his birth.   If you follow my blog, you know that he is a film editor in Hollywood, and is now engaged to Joan Kelley Bierman – the love of his life , and the absolute delight of ours!  We are fortunate to have them in our lives.

Hope everyone is having a terrific holiday.  Be safe, relax, think about our freedom and the many blessings we have, and be most grateful for family!

I am busily working on those Santas for Reasons to Believe!  Here are a couple more which are in progress!

Santa with some little snowmen

Woodland Santa (he’ll have a scene on the back)

These will be completed next week and shipped to Washington State.  After they are cataloged and photographed, they will be available.  In the meantime, there are others on the site, so have a look!  Enjoy!
