50 – Nifty and Thrifty!

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I bet you were thinking that it is someone who is 50 years old!  Well, no…….this is an article which was on my msn homepage this morning.  It has 50 ideas for re-purposing items – the green and recycling thing which we all need to be doing.  Anyway, there are some neato ideas here, and  some which are sort of borderline for me.  Take a look by following this link to the story!  Enjoy!  Let me know what you think!

Each is $20.00 plus $2.50 shipping!

Spooky Time Jingles update coming!

Friday, September 11th, 2009

It’s nearly the 13th of the month, so you know what that means!  Time for more goodies from spookytimejingles!  Usually, I show just a portion of a picture as somewhat of a teaser, but I have decided what the heck!  I am going for the whole thing this time, and from now on!  Yeah!  So, here are some pictures of what to expect from me around midnight tomorrow night, Eastern time!  Enjoy, and see you there!

This is kitty with a woman in the moon – changing the traditional man in the moon concept!

And, a snowman with his kitty.  I guess you figured it out that I love kitties! I hope you see something you like!  Check the link above tomorrow night, and these and two other pieces will be waiting for you – hint:  another snowman and a witch – Fetchin’ Gretchen!

Oh NO! BEEEG correction!

Well, my little brain just kicked in, and I realized that today is the 9th of September, and the update for pfatt occurs around midnight TONIGHT!!!!!

For those of you who read my previous post, I apologize.    I tell you, the holidays on Mondays play havoc with my sense of time.  Well, at least that is my story and I am sticking with it.  So, here are sneak peeks at the other pieces!  Hope you will join me late tonight at pfatt!

Two more paperweights for your consideration…..

Thanks for looking!  See you there!

Pfatt update is coming!

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Hard to believe, isn’t it?  We are nearly at the 10th of the month, and you know what that means!  Pfatt update time!  Since fall and winter are really when I come alive – something to do with cooler weather, since I live in hot and humid Virginia Beach, I have been working on new pieces for the approaching seasons.  Here is a little peek at what will be available on Friday.  I have three more creations from the natural clay, the dense body clay, which I have fallen in love with!  See you all around midnight Pacific time, Thursday night!  Enjoy!

One person can ALWAYS make a difference!

Friday, September 4th, 2009

From time to time, I post stories from the news which I believe are inspirations to all of us.  Today, I am writing about a wonderful 100-year-old British gentleman, Sir Nicholas Winton, and his courageous efforts to save children at the beginning of World War II.

At the end of the summer of 1939, 669 mostly Jewish children were boarding trains in Prague’s Wilson  Station, headed for safety in England.  Today, in London’s Liverpool Station, Sir Nicholas greeted 22 Holocaust survivors who had recreated their journeys of 70 years ago.

This is a story for the ages.  It illustrates one of my most basic beliefs:  one person always has, always can, and always will make a difference.  Read about this most miraculous effort by following this link to the story which aired on ABC World News this evening.  It will warm your heart, perhaps make you cry, and surely will reinforce the truth that there is much good in this world.

We can all be part of something greater than ourselves.  We can begin in our own communities – what a wonderful world this can be!

Snowflakes……assembled!

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

I thought I would post this morning – seems it has been about one week!  Agh!  I have a sort of explanation – I am building an inventory for two large fall shows, so my shoulder, and everything else leaned heavily on the grindstone!  These little guys are not quite finished, but there is enough to show.  They still need some antiquing, and shading, and glitter, and just spiffing up, but I will be having them on display in a couple of months.  I will give everyone show info as we get closer to the events.

Also, I have been working in a different clay – a dense body clay which can be fired, or allowed to air dry.  It is such fun!  Yeow!  Things I don’t do with the paperclay I can achieve with this clay, so be looking for more goodies.  Actually, in a previous post, I featured one of the pieces, and you can see both of them by going to pfattmarketplace.  I will have lots of home decor items from this new clay, so stay tuned!  If you like paperweights which are not the usual, check me out on pfatt when we update on the 10th!  I will also post a preview teaser pic or two!  Yippee!  In the meantime, here are those snowflakes assembled!  Enjoy!
