All he wants to do is dance!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Did you ever have a dancing partner you just couldn’t let go of?  Perhaps I have recreated him this month!  Here is my offering for the

Queens’ Castle Bootique which will update tomorrow, March 1, with the AHQU – Artistic Halloween Queens Uniting.

This guy just cannot keep his little feet still, and who can blame him?  He has sparkling green shoes!  And, they match the hat band on his top hat! And, oh!  that grin!  He’s a happy fella for sure!

Be sure to stop by and visit the Castle Bootique, where Halloween is always in style!  We update tomorrow, March 1!

Join the circus!

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Have you ever thought about running away and joining the circus?  Do you love the spectacle of it all?  Do you enjoy clowning around?  If you do, you MUST visit the American Artists Studio Marketplace as we launch our revamped site today!  Yes!  For February, we have a circus theme, so expect to see lots of colorful artwork!  Here’s a glimpse of my piece – The Balancing Act.  A tuxedo kitty is balancing a ball and two blocks in his front paws, a wee bird on his clown nose, and a small clown mouse on one foot!  All this, while balancing on a circus ball!  What a guy!

Come on over to the big top and see all of the goodies we have in store for you!  Join us at the AHA studio!

Did you know?

Did you know that as many as 10 million American citizens may have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder ADHD, which is frequently also referenced as ADD ?  And, statistics show that many continue to experience this into adulthood.  I am right there – I also think that most artists are this way.  I find that I continually jump around in what I want to experiment with, what new medium I want to try, what different way of doing things might work for me.  Here is the link to a very interesting article which I found this morning on the health page of msn.  It could surprise you to learn about well known individuals who also have ADHD.

You have to love this!

A wonderful friend of mine recently emailed this to me.  I think it is well worth posting here!  Enjoy!  :-)  Ginny

Recently in a large city in France a poster featuring a young, thin, and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said, “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?”

A middle-aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym:

To Whom It May Concern,

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins, stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Bering Sea, and the coral reefs of Polynesia .

Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures

and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don’t exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don’t have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have sex? Just look at them … where is IT? Therefore, they don’t have kids either. Not to mention, who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me: I want to be a whale.

P..S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver, and a piece of chocolate with my friends. With time, we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren’t heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated, and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, ¨Good grief, look how smart I am!¨

What are these?

They are the first hints of spring, of course!  They are just in their bare sculpted form, but I will be putting color to them, and they will be available on pfattmarketplace when it updates on the evening of February 9th.  I think that most of us in this country have had enough of winter battering, so I thought I would sculpt some emerging spring blooms to cheer up your gray days!  Enjoy!  I’ll be posting pics of the finished products – just in time for the update!

This can save your life

While reading the news on my homepage this morning, I clicked on a link about women’s health on msn.com.  This information is important for every woman, and the people who love them.  Heart disease is the leading killer of women in this country.  Please read this article.  It could save your life or that of someone you love.
