Perfect women are flawed, too
Thursday, May 26th, 2011I don’t know about you, but from time to time, I hear the phrase……”Wow! She sure has it made”! Does anyone REALLY have it made? The answer, of course, is no. We see only what others allow us to see, unless, you talk about “names” in the news – celebrities, politicans, and the like whose every move is documented by investigative individuals seeking explosive material.
I was struck by an article I recently read online, an excerpt from Mike Brzezinski’s memoir All Things At Once. You may know Mika if you watch msnbc’s Morning Joe on weekday mornings. You may recognize the last name – her father was Secretary of State under Bill Clinton. What you probably don’t know is her private struggle to be the good wife, the good mother, the great newscaster, etc. This online piece from her book is valuable for all of us who consistently try to do everything. Follow this link to see how striving for perfection took its toll on Mika, and what she learned from this experience. It really is a good read! I think I will have to get the book!
