She’s sittin’ pretty!

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

It’s nearly spring on the calendar, and with that season comes new life.  How exciting!  This little mama is doing her part to bring more beauty into our world.  She is an American robin, settled down in her nest, to await the hatching of her little babies.  She is hand sculpted from paperclay, as is the pot which holds her and the nest.  Wouldn’t you love to have her in your home?  Please visit me this morning, March 10th, at 10 am Pacific time, at the pfattmarketplace update!  It’s as simple as that!  See you there!

Mama in waiting

Monday, March 7th, 2011

It’s that time of the year!  I’ve been hearing the birds singing their little hearts out for a couple of weeks now.  With that delightful background in mind, I decided to sculpt a little mama robin, as she snuggles into her nest, made on top of a flower pot.  She’s a work in progress, but she will be ready when pfatt marketplace updates on March 10th!  Yay!  Join me then, and check back for a peek at the finished piece!

All he wants to do is dance!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Did you ever have a dancing partner you just couldn’t let go of?  Perhaps I have recreated him this month!  Here is my offering for the

Queens’ Castle Bootique which will update tomorrow, March 1, with the AHQU – Artistic Halloween Queens Uniting.

This guy just cannot keep his little feet still, and who can blame him?  He has sparkling green shoes!  And, they match the hat band on his top hat! And, oh!  that grin!  He’s a happy fella for sure!

Be sure to stop by and visit the Castle Bootique, where Halloween is always in style!  We update tomorrow, March 1!

Join the circus!

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Have you ever thought about running away and joining the circus?  Do you love the spectacle of it all?  Do you enjoy clowning around?  If you do, you MUST visit the American Artists Studio Marketplace as we launch our revamped site today!  Yes!  For February, we have a circus theme, so expect to see lots of colorful artwork!  Here’s a glimpse of my piece – The Balancing Act.  A tuxedo kitty is balancing a ball and two blocks in his front paws, a wee bird on his clown nose, and a small clown mouse on one foot!  All this, while balancing on a circus ball!  What a guy!

Come on over to the big top and see all of the goodies we have in store for you!  Join us at the AHA studio!

What are these?

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

They are the first hints of spring, of course!  They are just in their bare sculpted form, but I will be putting color to them, and they will be available on pfattmarketplace when it updates on the evening of February 9th.  I think that most of us in this country have had enough of winter battering, so I thought I would sculpt some emerging spring blooms to cheer up your gray days!  Enjoy!  I’ll be posting pics of the finished products – just in time for the update!

A brand new opportunity for me!

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

I am excited to announce that I have joined a wonderful group – Artistic Halloween Queens Uniting – AHQU, and my first piece available through them will be February 1 – just a couple of days from now!  The Queens have a Bootique – don’t you love that name?!  I will be a part of it, and will have updates the 1st of every month, and then in July, we update on the 15th as well.  Isn’t that grand?!  One  great place to find terrific Halloween art throughout the year!

I will be offering a piece I worked on last fall, called Up the Hill.  Here are a couple of pictures to stimulate your imagination!  This is a 10 x 12 mirror, the frame of which is done in a bas relief.  I have sculpted the scene onto the frame, so there is a lot of depth and detail.Hope to see you at the Bootique!  :-)  Ginny

It’s showtime!

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

I’ve been somewhat quiet lately, because I just did one big show last weekend here in Virginia Beach, and will be doing another this upcoming weekend in Williamsburg.  If you are in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself to stop by on Saturday or Sunday for a nice show at Trinkle Hall on the campus of William & Mary! It’s the Grand Illumination weekend in this historic area, so there will be lots of activities, culminating with the fireworks and lighting of the town Sunday evening!  Wowee!  The show is open 9-5 pm on Saturday and 10-5 pm on Sunday!

Here are a few pics of my booth from last weekend!  And, you can see more in person this weekend!    Enjoy!
